Eduardo Jiménez

Staff Attorney

Eduardo Jiménez received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Hispanic Literature cum laude from Harvard University and subsequently lived in Madrid, where he received a doctoral degree summa cum laude in the Humanities from Universidad San Pablo-CEU.

After teaching a variety of humanistic topics as an adjunct professor at universities in the greater San Antonio area for four years, he attended Cornell Law School on scholarship and graduated in 2011.

During summers as a law student, he interned with the Cornell Farmworkers Program, where he provided “Know Your Rights” presentations to groups of undocumented immigrant dairy farmers. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in San Antonio involving legal advocacy for undocumented minor detainees.

Prior to working with JFAI, Eduardo practiced criminal defense in solo practice for six years, after three years as legal counsel at the Bexar County Board of Trustees for Mental Health and Mental Retardation. Additionally, Eduardo has an extensive record of peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from international indigenous human rights to modern Spanish and Mexican fiction.

Eduardo is very pleased with the opportunity to work once again with immigrant minors as a JFAI staff attorney.
