“I believe everyone deserves a fair shot at the American Dream,” Abby says. “Just because someone can’t afford legal help shouldn’t mean they go without justice.”
For Abby, volunteering with JFAI isn’t just about showing up, it’s about standing up. A naturalized citizen who spent more than 30 years as a permanent resident, Abby understands the challenges and hopes that define the immigrant journey. That’s why she’s offered her time, heart, and voice to the mission of JFAI.
“I believe everyone deserves a fair shot at the American Dream,” Abby says. “Just because someone can’t afford legal help shouldn’t mean they go without justice.”
Now serving on the San Antonio Fundraising Committee, Abby’s impact is woven through every layer of our work. What fuels her commitment? A belief that love and community are powerful tools in the face of fear and xenophobia. “As we encounter negativity, it’s more important than ever to spread love,” she reminds us.
Abby embodies how one voice, one act of service, can spark meaningful change, and she invites others to be part of it. “Your gifts and graces will always be appreciated and put to good use,” she says. “God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the called.”
